CT scan

If the information about structures and organs in the abdomen cannot be reliably shown by ultrasound or endoscopy, or if the child is too young to tolerate duration and breath-holding required for an abdominal MRI, a CT scan may be indicated to perform a cross-sectional scan of the abdomen or other parts of the body as CT scan. Because this involves radiation, very careful consideration will be given by the gastroenterology and radiology consultants.
